Questions, answered

Is Heaps Good really free?
Yes. The consent banner, Google Consent Mode v2, the Tracker Monitor and the consent log are free to use. Paid plans add extra placements, per-region rules and pre-consent blocking.
What is Google Consent Mode v2?
It is Google's framework for adjusting how their tags behave based on consent. Heaps Good keeps tags cookieless until a visitor accepts, then flips them to granted, so you keep measurement without firing tags before consent.
Will it slow down my store?
No. The banner is loaded deferred, so it never blocks your storefront from rendering.
Do I need a developer to set it up?
No. Install from the App Store, turn on the app embed in your theme editor, and you are live. No code, and no store domain to type in.
Which regions does it cover?
It shows a banner where your configured markets require one, with rule sets for GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA. Visitors elsewhere are not shown a banner they do not need.
What data can Heaps Good access?
One read-only Shopify permission, used only to check whether Shopify's native banner is on. It cannot read your products, customers or orders, and it sets no cookies of its own.
Can visitors change their choice later?
Yes. A small Cookie settings button reopens the banner at any time, and the new choice is logged.
Can I prove consent if I am audited?
Every choice is logged with a region and timestamp, and you can export the full log to CSV whenever you need it.
